Dan Schrock, passed away in his sleep, on February 11, 2020 at his home in Corvallis, Oregon, at the age of 68.
Dan was born in Lebanon to Vernon and Leona (Linville) Schrock and was raised on the family farm in Tangent. His grade school years were spent at McFarland Grade School in Tangent, a small country school where his Father also attended. He attended Calapooia Junior High and Albany Union High School.
Dan was a much-loved OSU Beaver Believer Fan, He even attended a game in Oahu, Hawaii. He had a kind heart for others and always easy to laugh. He enjoyed gardening, sharing his vine ripened tomatoes, and Barbequed fish with neighbors, friends and family. He enjoyed fishing and crabbing and went on many trips with his dad, some of them spent at his sisters, on the coast. He loved animals, his dog Bosco, and his cat “Missy.” Dan had owned his own carpet cleaning business until his health wouldn’t allow. He was an active and much appreciated volunteer for the Philomath Gleaner’s. He often used his truck to transport food to those who could not drive.
He is survived by his Mother, Leona of Albany; His twin daughters Heather (Scott) Wertz and grandchildren, Alexandria and Cameron all of Lacey, WA; Kaylyn (Ben) Fagnant and grandchildren, Cody, Braeden, and Mason all of Bonney Lake, WA; His dog Bosco; Brothers, Loren of Albany, and Dean of Tangent; Sisters, Jeannette Banta of Albany, Judith Utley of Tangent, Jackie Degman of Gardiner, Vickie Bailey of Albany, and Mary Jane Cheek of Maryland; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Vernon in 2001.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorial Contributions may be made in Dan’s honor to Safe Haven of Tangent or American Diabetes Association in care of Fisher Funeral Home, 306 Washington Street SW, Albany OR 97321.
“You left without warning, gone so fast, now all we have are memories of our past.” We wish you a peaceful repose and tell dad/grandpa hello from all of us!
