Clyde Earle Hashagen, at age 90 years old and longtime resident of Albany, passed away at the Oregon Veteran Home in Lebanon.
As the son of Albert and Rose (Jirsa) Hashagen, he was born in Leavenworth Kansas. He married the love of his life, Irvalene Malott on April 20, 1953 in Ottawa, Kansas.
Clyde attended Kemper Military School, graduated from Ottawa University and obtained his master's degree at North Texas University in Business Administration.
He served two years in the Army, and after completing his military duty, worked in the family hardware store in Ottawa, Kansas. From there, he went on to work for Lear/Siegler, and afterwards worked for the City Of Dallas (Texas) in the Emergency Management Department. After retiring he developed a hobby that turned into a successful business. Clyde collected vintage wooden golf clubs, he would then hand carve and paint duck heads onto the wooden driver. His unique art was sold nationwide and was known as “Driver Ducks”.
Clyde was preceded in death by his brother Edward Hashagen (Maryland) and sister, Bernice Taylor (Arkansas). He is survived by his children Jill, Ken, Judy and Keith, four granddaughters, six great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Private services will be held at a later date in Ottawa, Kansas. Any memorial contributions may be made to the Oregon Veteran Home in Lebanon in care of the Fisher Funeral Home, 305 SW Washington St. Albany, OR 97321
