Elnora was born August 9th, 1949, the daughter of Pearlie May Yarbrough & the late Tom Daniel Fondren, on a plantation in Glendora, Mississippi. Due to segregation, she attended all black schools until one day she'd had enough. She wanted a better education. When she was 16, she fought to go to the all white school, Clarksdale High School. There, Elnora spent 2 years, and graduated with honors.

In 1990, Elnora married William Palmtag, the love of her life. Together they raised two children, Mark & Deena. Her life was always filled with love. She became a momma to so many over the years, taking in the friends of her children and making sure they had a place to call home. As they grew older, she became the grandmother to their children. Her generosity & charity through the years gave a gift to those who needed it most, and that gift was family.

She worked in customer service & technical support most of her adult years, and truly excelled at her job, as she was so gifted at communication and she could make anyone laugh. After her retirement, Elnora dreamed of finishing college. She decided to go back, and received her bachelor degree at the age of 67.

She loved gardening & feeding the birds who would come to visit her garden. She was always cooking to make sure everyone was fed. Elnora was full of life. There was never a dull moment with her. She was funny, artistic, honest & always prayerful. She always felt God working in her life to bring her situations where she could change hearts. She dreamt of educating children & giving young girls courage through her story, that they too can achieve & be anything.

On November 6th, 2019, surrounded by loved ones, Elnora reposed at the age of 70. She leaves behind her husband, William Palmtag, her children Mark, Deena, Sharon, Matthew, Mellaney & countless others, grandchildren, William, Aaliyah, Matty & many more who loved her as their Grandma, her mother Pearlie May & her brother Richard.
