Larry Ray Green, 84, of Foster, Oregon died April 5, 2019 at his home surrounded by family.

Born in Bakersfield, California to Raymond and Grace (Allen) Green, Larry was the older of two boys.

Larry served in the United States Army in Germany. He worked in communications for the field artillery.

Larry married Barbara Jane Hochderffer on June 23, 1962 in Fresno, California. They had two sons, Robert and Roger Green.

Larry worked for Ma Bell, which later became AT & T, from which he retired. In 1990, he and Barbara moved to Grass Valley, California where he worked doing tv/radio repair. In 1991 they bought property and had a home built in Foster, Oregon. He worked for CelWave in Corvallis as quality control before finally retiring for good.

He had a love for life, for his family, and for cars. His hobbies included automobiles, woodworking, gem/jewelry working, and photography.

Larry had a wonderful sense of humor and loved telling jokes. He was a great story-teller as well, often combining the two to take a person along a journey culminating with a horrible pun. Hearing the groans of his audience delighted him.

Above all, Larry had a strong personal relationship with his Lord and Savior. Larry would tell anyone who would listen about the wonders God could work in their lives. His strong faith never wavered, and as he was dying, he told his family that there was nothing to be upset about because he knew where he was going and had no fear, which has brought much peace to his family.

Larry is survived by wife, Barbara of Sweet Home; sons Robert (Pamela) Green of Nevada City, CA, and Roger (Amanda) Green of Albany; grandchildren Bryce (Shy’An) Green and Alexander (Courtney) Green of Albany; great-granddaughters Autumn and Lily of Albany; brother Richard (Jean) Green of Kent, WA; sister-in-law Bessie Wirth; brother-in-law Frank Beyer; brother-in-law Larry (Esther) Hochderffer, all of California; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, as well as his greater church family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Grace Green.

He will be dearly missed.

A memorial service will be on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 2PM at the Highway 20 Church of Christ in Sweet Home, Oregon.
