Mark James Noakes, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, walked into eternity to be with Jesus on May 30, 2018. Mark, age 63, passed away at his Tidewater, OR home. He was born on June 7, 1954 to Frank and Marie Noakes in Bend, OR.

Mark graduated from Bend High School in 1972. He went on to earn a B.S. in Business Administration and Finance from Oregon State University in 1976. He was hired in 1977 by Linn County and was elected as County Assessor/Tax Collector in 1993. He retired after 35 years of public service in December 2012.

Mark married his high school sweetheart, Kathy, in 1976, and settled in Albany, OR, where they raised their 2 children, Erin & Brian. He adored his family; they were the center of his life, and what he cared about most. He especially enjoyed watching his 3 grandchildren growing up, and spending time with them.

Throughout his life, Mark was an avid fisherman, hunter and outdoorsman. After his retirement, Mark and Kathy spent their summers with family and friends at their river beach house in Tidewater, OR.

He will truly be missed.

Mark is survived by his wife, Kathleen Noakes, of Albany, OR; daughter, Erin Reynolds (Greg) of Florence, OR; son, Brian Noakes (Aslan) of Philomath, OR; and grandchildren, Madison & Maximus Reynolds and Samuel Noakes.

A celebration of Mark’s life will be held at 1:00pm, Friday, June 8th, at the Albany First Christian Church: 432 Ferry Street SW, Albany, OR. Fisher Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
