Evelyn Bierly was born in Hastings, Nebraska to Floyd and Inez Wolfe. She was the oldest of four children. Her sister Deloris and brother Dale preceded her in death. She is survived by her brother Laverne. Her parents, and husband of 56 years Kenneth, and her son Martin also preceded Evelyn in death. Survivors include her two daughters, Nancy Waggener and Barbara Foreman, as well as her daughter-in-law Kathy Bierly. In addition, she was blessed with five grandchildren, Kenneth (Amanda), Tamala Goracke (Dale), Charley Wolff (Melissa), Dylan Foreman (Christy), and Duncan Foreman (Alex). She also had 12 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

She will be remembered for her dedication to family, friends and community. Her commitment to the Charity Grange extended for over sixty years while her love of sewing brought her leadership skills to 4-H for 25 years. Evelyn also donated hours of time to the high school FFA program. She was known for her many hours of working with her husband on the farm. This included helping in the fields, growing and preserving the family food, sewing the clothing, and maintaining the family schedules. In her spare time Evelyn enjoyed many forms of art, including oil painting, sketching, crocheting, cross stitching, and gardening.

Evelyn left this world peacefully after many years of Alzheimer’s. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Services will be held at Grace Bible Community Church in Halsey on Monday February 5th at 12 Noon, followed by a reception and brief graveside at Alford Cemetery. A viewing will be from Noon to 3pm Sunday February 4th at Fisher Funeral Home.
