Stanley Gourley, 92, of Albany, passed away Tuesday, October 10th at his home.

Stanley was born in Albany to Ernest and Lena (Mitzner) Gourley. He lived in Albany and Halsey during his life, attended East Knox Butte Grade School, and then graduated from Albany High School in 1943. He married Lorene Larson on June 3, 1947 in Lebanon. Stanley daried with his father, Ernest until Ernest passed in 1958. He continued to operate the family dairy until 1968 in Knox Butte and then moved to the farm on Muller Drive, continuing to raise Jersey cows, milking short horns and Berkshire hogs. His love of farming continued his whole life. Stanley farmed until 2015. He moved to Brookdale Senior Living in 2016 where he peacefully passed on October 10, 2017.

Stanley was a member of the Calvary Community Church; model dairy 4H club which is the oldest continuous 4H club in the nation; was the outstanding young farmer of the year in 1958; director for Oregon pork producers; and a lifetime member of the American Jersey Cattle Club.

Stanley is survived by his wife, Lorene; children, Larry Eugene Gourley of Sun City West, Arizona, Jerry Stanley Gourley of Albany, and Susan Lorene Gourley of Alturas, California; brother, Stuart Russel; sisters, Marie Kenagy and Ruth Redman; 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Calvary Community Church.
