Jeremy Alan Crites
August 18, 1972 - September 4, 2017
He was born in McMinnville Oregon August 18th, 1972 the third son of Jake and Joann. Jeremy spent his life in the Willamette Valley. He attended 12 years of school in Jefferson, Oregon. Jeremy married Cari Merryman on June 18th 1994 in Jefferson. They went on to spend their lives together and raise their family in Albany. Jeremy was the father of Jeremy Jr., Chelby, and Jake a German-sheprador retriever.
Jeremy always loved sports. He was a SF 49er fan all of his life. He loved cheering on the OSU Beavers and South Albany Rebels. With his son and uncle, he made many trips in the summer to Washougal, WA to see Motocross Nationals.
Jeremy loved helping out and being a part of his children's school activities. He worked many shifts alongside his daughter in the OSU concessions to help her earn money for choir trips. He rarely missed a soccer, football, golf, choir or a capella event that his children were involved in.
Jeremy also loved the outdoors. He particularly loved the mountains, traveling, hiking with his wife at Sahalie Falls, and camping with his family. There were many camping trips over the years with his family to Crescent and Diamond Lake, Kah-Nee-Tah, and most often Waterloo. He also loved hunting and fishing.
Jeremy had always dreamed of going to Montana. With his wife, he travelled to Montana in June of this year to celebrate their 23rd wedding anniversary on a road trip that travelled through six states.
Jeremy had been employed with the Greater Albany Public School District's Transportation Department as a school bus driver since 2014. He truly loved his work and in his short time of working there, made many great friends who he cherished greatly. He was involved in competitions with school bus safety attending Road-eos locally and nationally. He competed with co-worker Virginia in Frisco, Texas in March of this year where they came in 8th in the nation. Jeremy was only months away from completing his schooling to become a Licensed Massage Therapist. His massage practice involved many family and friends and we all heard him ask "is it a good hurt or a bad hurt" as he pressed his very talented massage hands into painful knotted muscles.
Jeremy was preceded in death by his Father Lloyd (Jake) Crites Sr. January 1st 1998, 12 hours after his second child Chelby was born. Jeremy experienced tragic events in his teenage years that greatly shaped his life.
Jeremy is survived by his wife Cari, children Jeremy Jr., Chelby, and the family dog Jake, his parents Rick and Joann Debus, brothers Jake, his wife Lori, children Justin, Cassidy, Kaden, and Kaleb Crites, Jeff, his wife Kamen, children Cameron and Conner Crites, and Joey Monier, Tony Debus, fiance Beth Taylor, and Mike, his wife Shelley, children Gavin and Zach Debus.
