Gary Lee Rose, 67, passed away with his family by his side on August 13, 2017 at his home in Klamath Falls.

Gary was born in Albany, Oregon to Lawrence “Red” and Nema (Laxton) Rose on November 9, 1949. He went to school in Halsey. He married Denise Rose-Spicher. This marriage later ended in divorce. On December 7, 2008 Gary married Lori Rose in Klamath Falls. He graduated from Oregon State University and was a diehard Beavers fan. He worked for the State of Oregon as a Senior Liquor Enforcement Inspector with the Oregon Liquor Control Commission for 24 years before he retired. After his retirement from the Commission he went to work for Klamath County Human Resources until he retired in 2012. He was proud to be a veteran and served in the US Army as a missile man from 1971 to 1975.

Gary loved fishing, big game and bird hunting, travel, and annual coast trips with his family and friends. His grandchildren were the apple of his eye and he enjoyed spending most of his free time with them. He was actively involved with Ducks Unlimited for over thirty years and held the positions of State Chairman, Assistant State Chairman and State Council Chairman. Gary was a stranger to no one and a friend to all.

Gary is preceded in death by his father, Lawrence “Red” Rose and step son David Spivey.

Gary is survived by his wife, Lori Rose, son and daughter-in-law Jason and Misty Rose, step children and their spouses, Brent Tremblay of Medford, Ryan and Staci Stilwell of Salem, Michael Stilwell of Klamath Falls and Lane Stilwell of San Francisco, CA. Sisters, Charlotte Collins of Halsey and Beverly Robinson of Medford. Mother, Nema Rose of Halsey. Grandchildren Kylee Rose, Tyler Rose, Emma Stilwell and Callen Stilwell. Nephew and spouse, Travis and Kelly Robinson of Medford, niece and spouse, Katie and Randy McMillen of Halsey. Gary also leaves many very special friends.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Friday August 25, 2017 at Fisher Funeral Home, Albany, Oregon. Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Pine Grove Cemetery, Halsey, Oregon.
Memorial donations may be made to Oregon Ducks Unlimited in care of Fisher Funeral Home, 306 SW Washington St., Albany, Oregon 97321.

The Rose family wishes to extend sincere thanks to the Seattle VA Hospital Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, Portland VA Oncology team, Doctor Honda and Sharon from the Klamath Falls VA clinic, and High Desert Hospice.
