It is with broken and heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved husband, father, brother and grandpop Chris Wyne. Chris left us too early at 60 years of age and went to Heaven from a sudden heart attack at home on the morning of April 10th, 2017.
Chris was born at Lebanon Hospital on April 1st, 1957, to Jack and Joanne Wyne of Brownsville. He lived on Gap Road all his life. In the early years he attended Central Linn Schools, where he played football, wrestled, sung in the Blue Notes, and graduated in 1975. Life was busy as a teen and adult working at Wyne's Poultry Farm with his parents and family. After graduation he attended LBCC which is where he met his wife, Debie Hermansen Wyne of Philomath. Together, after marriage on April 3rd, 1977, they worked side by side on the farm until 1986. He was the most devoted and loving husband to Debie and they proudly just celebrated their 40th Anniversary. After the farm closed he worked alongside his dad, Jack, in contracting and later owned and operated Espresso 216 by the freeway.
He was an avid reader, a coffee aficionado, and enjoyed collecting guns, hats, harmonicas, knives, flashlights, gadgets, and other odds-and-ends.
In April 1992, he was blessed with the surprise birth of Sean and became an instant father and stay at home dad. In September of 1997, he flew to Liberia, West Africa to bring home his two new children Martha (4 years old) and Jeremiah (3 years old). Being an amazing Dad gave him the most joy. He welcomed another daughter, Sean's wife, Dora-Jean Hammer, in October 2015. 3 months ago his first grandson, Jack Owen, whom he loved dearly, was born.
Chris was a very proud father who became the only "Dad" at Parents and Pals Play Group and Central Linn Pre-School when the kids were little. He was an avid Central Linn Rec Center and Central Linn School Sports fan; where he never missed a football, basketball, baseball game or track meet of his kids'. Chris was a member of Central Valley Church and Family Bible Church. He was currently serving on the Central Linn District School Board for the last 12 years. His motto was always "Kids Come First".
Chris is survived by his wife Debie; eldest son Sean and his wife, Dora, and grandson Jack of Albany; daughter Martha of Eugene; son Jeremiah of Albany; sister Leslie Wyne of Keizer; Aunt Nancy Wyne Schultz of Hermosa, SD; sister-in-law Heidi Hermansen and her husband Dave Armstrong of Turner and nieces Shelby of Corvallis and Alyse of Turner; brother-in-law Marty Hermansen and niece Hailey and nephew Chandler of Canby; and many Millers in the community. He was proceeded in death by his parents Jack and Joanne Wyne, and grandparents: John and Audrey Wyne and Currin and Vina Miller.
A Celebration of Life will be on April 22, at 1:30 pm at Central Linn High School in Halsey. Contributions may be made to the Central Linn Educational Scholarship Fund in care of Fisher Funeral Home, Albany.
The morning he passed, the daily scripture verse on his phone was 2 Timothy 4:7: "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."
