Beverly Bidleman Bacon

Beverly Bacon died peacefully in the company of family on Thursday, April 7th in Albany Oregon at the Evergreen Hospice House. Born in Glendive, Montana, she was the second of five children born to Amy and Neal Bidleman. Bev graduated from high school in Auburn, WA, and attended the University of Washington. She became a stewardess for Pacific Northern Airlines and flew in DC3s and DC4s from Seattle to Alaska in the early 50s. On one such trip she met her husband the late Richard (Dick) Bacon, and they were married in 1954. Their first two children, David and Alice, were born in Anchorage, AK before it became a state, and upon returning to the lower 40 they had three more children, Louis born in Bremerton WA, Paul born in Gallup NM, and Ralph born in Winslow AZ.

Bev is predeceased by her parents, Neal Harry Bidleman and Amy Moriarty Bidleman, her sister Doris Fletcher and half-sisters Mary Duffy & Betty Peterson. She is survived by three of her loving siblings, Fritzi Jacobson, David & Richard Bidleman. Bev enjoyed a rich family life that included helping raise her two grandsons Michael and Ryan, as well as being the matriarch of the family that included 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Beverly was always devoted to family, and always took the time to tell us all "You know what you ought to do". She made the best chocolate cake on the planet, and spoiled the family with her "grandma cake" to the point where nothing else was acceptable, and has even made grandma cake for a grandson's wedding cake. Bev loved to shop, and never missed a chance to give a gift to one of her beloved family members. Some of us received gifts from her after her death!

Bev's family will hold a memorial at her daughter Alice Bacon-True's house to honor her life, from 1-3pm on Saturday April 15th, 34627 Knox Butte Rd., Albany, OR 97321. Please consider donating to the Evergreen Hospice House in care of Fisher Funeral Home, 306 SW Washington St., Albany, OR 97321.
